Once you have passed the light industrial area of Paarden Eiland, the residential West coast stretches before you up through Milnerton and Bloubergstrand to West Beach and Melkbosstrand.

We love walking along the beach from Milnerton lighthouse near Woodbridge Island towards the Dolphin Beach hotel in Blouberg. You can watch the ships heading for Cape Town harbour with Robben Island in the background across the bay.

You'll love this area of Cape Town if you like low rolling hills and being close to long beaches. Be warned -- the west coast can be quite windy at times, making it home to the best kitesurfing beaches on the Peninsula!

This is also the place to head when you're looking for photos with the classic flat top of Table Mountain in the background.
